The Stolen Watch
OVERVIEW: Composers create music from the sounds within them and the sounds that surround them. In this lesson, students will explore the natural and cultural influences that define places. They will use maps to identify Austria and Mozart’s birthplace, listen to music from Austria, record geographic information and create sound journals.
OBJECTIVES:
Students will do the following:
- Use maps to locate Austria
- Create a signpost
- Listen to music
- View an episode of Wunderkind Little Amadeus
- Take notes
- Participate in a writing activity
- Create a class presentation
- Contribute to large-group discussions
