Pumperl in Trouble

 

OVERVIEW: In this lesson, students explore the historical context of Austria in the 18th century through Little Amadeus’ adventures. They create Venn diagrams comparing their own lives and young Mozart’s life in a variety of categories, and examine the role of music in children’s daily life. After they view the episode “Pumperl in Trouble,” they create a classroom mural.
 
OBJECTIVES:
 
Students will do the following:
  • Listen to Mozart’s music
  • View an episode of Wunderkind Little Amadeus
  • Compare and contrast information
  • Create a Venn diagram
  • Brainstorm ideas
  • Collaborate in a small-group setting
  • Contribute to large-group discussions
  • Create a mural
  • Create a class presentation
