Activity One: A Musical Introduction


The purpose of this activity is to introduce students to the music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. 


 


1. Play "Piano Trio in G" K. 564 for your students. Ask them to share their responses to the music. Use the following questions as guides:


    

  • What instruments do you hear?
    • 

  • How does music make you feel?
    • 

  • What kind of mood does the music create?
    • 

  • What kinds of music do you like to listen to?
    • 

  • What kinds of music do you hear as you go through your day?
    • 



2. As a class, explore the program website at www.little-amadeus.com to find information about Austria and Mozart’s life. You may wish to view the Marketplace, Mozart’s House and Adventure World. Discuss students’ responses to what they discover.


 


Teacher Note: For K-2 students you may wish to read the website information aloud to your students. For older students, you may wish to have them explore the website independently and share what they learn with the entire class.
