Episode description

On their way to Vienna, Amadeus and his sister Nannerl follow a troupe of actors and accidentally board the wrong ship. While their parents are sailing on the Danube towards Vienna, the two children are having a wonderful time aboard the pleasure boat. They cap off the performance of the acting troupe with their own musical accompaniment. Along the way, they help bring peace between an angry father and his daughter and future son-in-law. But will the Mozart siblings ever catch up with their parents' ship…?

MUSIC:
This episode contains multiple variations on the 3rd movement of what is probably the best-known of Mozart’s piano sonatas Sonata No. 16 in C Major KV 545. Amadeus’s rival Devilius has as his musical leitmotif the Phantasie für eine Orgelwalze in F Minor  KV 608.The beautiful adagio from the Flute Quartet No. 1 in D Major KV 285 symbolises the love between the couple on the ship who want to get married. Here, we also hear the Concertone for Two Violins and Orchestra in C Major KV 190.
